Hi! I’m Dani Shields, and I’m excited to share a bit about my background with you. After earning a psychology degree from Eastern WA University, I transitioned into a career of creating relationships by selling real estate in Spokane, Washington. Through that journey I was given the opportunity to help run Deese Property Management where I have found a place that fosters my desire to make a difference in our community. My focus for the last year has been bringing a human touch to an industry that can sometimes overlook the personal aspects for both property owners in our community as well as the tenants that occupy those properties.

In my journey over the last year,  I’ve observed instances where tenants are not treated as they should be, where they live in situations where their rents are high, no maintenance is done to keep their living environments safe, and they feel taken advantage of. Conversely, I’ve seen many owners struggle with the high cost of operating rental properties, landlord-tenant laws being abused to protect tenants that damage the properties and create chaos for those sharing buildings with them, and the frustration of losing money on investments that they rely on to pay their own bills. I have realized that there is no cut and dry answer to the issues both owners and tenants face and I strive to strike a balance that ensures owners’ properties are well-protected and maintained, while also providing tenants with safe, clean living spaces that cater to their needs.

Hello! My wife and I moved from Chicago to Spokane in 1992. Our plan was to be here only 4 years, but we love it here and decided to stay. We raised our children here and have made this area our home. Prior to being a realtor, I was a manager for a few businesses and managed my own rental house. When the time came to sell my rental, I gutted it and made it look beautiful and I found a new love – flipping houses.  I decided to become a realtor so I could sell my own flips but in so doing, I also have the chance to help you buy your dream home or vacation property.  As your agent I will give you all the available information so you can make an informed decision that is best for you.
